Today is the fifth day in a row that the restaurant has no customers.

As expected, doing this job is very boring.

For someone such as myself, however, changing employment is either impossible or, more accurately, prohibited.

Why? Because I have to pay for what I have done, it is God's punishment, it cannot be denied.

In actuality, my protest was a little bit out of line because my restaurant serves lost souls; hence, the lack of regular patrons indicates that the "people" who used to visit this spot have moved on from this life with no regrets, and that's a very good thing. But this sensation of boredom with nothing to do has existed since I was a person, thus I'm angry right now. Is there any restaurant owner that is okay with having no customers for five days in a row? I need a salary as well! The same is true for my restaurant personnel!

But even though it pains me, everyone wants to die gently so that they will have an easy time entering the hereafter, where they will be reincarnated and begin a new life, so I should be happy for their spirits. But I must admit that I am very envious of them since they have experienced reincarnation whereas I have not.

Because of God's retribution, I founded the Morning Sun business a long time ago. I have no remorse about becoming the one who takes "lost souls" to the hereafter since God made me do it. I have done something that the gods find abhorrent and unforgivable. My workers committed crimes too, but unlike me, they were reborn if they behaved correctly, rather than receiving an eternal punishment. In actuality, there are still a lot of people who, like me, opt to complete their work in a variety of ways. The reason I chose to open a restaurant is because when I was a human, I also owned a noodle shop. I will not reveal the time of my punishment, but will only say that I lived in a time when there was communication between gods and humans.

There are five people working at my present restaurant, not including me: two cooks, two waiters, and a receptionist. I also had three more employees two months ago: a cleaner, a waiter, and a receptionist. However, all three had already returned to life. This is seen as a somewhat acceptable amount of employees, at least given the nature of the task. I am responsible for directing the team to accomplish the desires of the soul in addition to my role as a leader and accountant. To satisfy the last desires of the departed, all we have to do is grant their requests. Why is this type of employment even possible? Because if their final request is not granted, they will continue be plagued by those entanglements and eventually suffer from those things when they reach the hereafter, which would cause them to become "dead souls" who are unable to be reborn.

Every employee of this restaurant resides here. Don't assume that the soul is powerless; we still need to eat, drink, and sleep. Below the restaurant is a large basement with rooms. Also, only souls can see our restaruant, of course. Our restaurant's ability to relocate independently is another unique feature. We will relocate as soon as God gives us the instruction. I got up rather early this morning, but I didn't see anyone coming to my house. If you're wondering why visitors arrive on their own, I can tell you that we have a unique attraction that aids in drawing lost souls to us and transporting them to the hereafter. While I am feeling depressed, Mai, my receptionist, was sad and complained:

- It's been nearly a week, Ha!!! Why hasn't anyone come here yet? If there is no one remaining, why hasn't an order been issued for us to go yet?!?

- Calm down, Mai. - I said, although I'm bored as well. - Let's simply wait; there must be more lost souls here. Don't think I'm not in the same mood as you, but all we can do is wait.

- So boring!!!

If she calculated her age when she became a soul, she would have been twenty but still maintained this childish attitude. I think Mai is cute, and she is also very hardworking.

- Good morning everyone.

When Mai and I turned to face the speaker, we saw that it belonged to Tung, one of my restaurant's two cooks. The youngster gets up late most of the time, yet he is more excited than everyone here.

- 9am! - Mai said.

- Oh come on! I'm sorry!

- Nah it's okay. Luckily for you there are no guests today! - I smiled and told Tung.

- So...where are the rest? - He wondered.

- Long and Phong go out to acquire additional food for the business! Manh is upstairs cleaning! - Mai instantly spoke on my behalf.

Long and Phong are the two waiters, and Manh is the other chef. All three boys are gentle, but Phong is quieter than the other two. Speak of the devil, Manh immediately came down from upstairs, holding a mop in one hand and a bucket in the other.

- Oh, you're awake? - Manh suprise.

- Yah! And don't think I forgot about you hiding my shirt in Long's room!

We all laughed. These children are indeed a bit naughty, but having them like this makes me very happy.

- We're back!

Whoa, the other two are back! All of my restaurant's employees are present, then. Tung should go assist the two returned boys put stuff in the closet if he has nothing else to do, I swiftly reminded him. In case you were wondering where we shop, I would like to clarify that we "employees of God" have our own market where we sell food that is particularly meant for souls. It was suddenly noontime. We were about to eat lunch when suddenly the doorbell rang. We all glanced at one other and exclaimed: "We have a guest!"

Mai, Long, Phong, and I hurried to the restaurant entrance and watched as it opened slowly. Why do we move so quickly? To put it simply, we are souls! The door was opened by a young man wearing a suit. Like many of our clients, he looked about our store with strange eyes, full of questions. Mai offered to enquire of him:

- Please sit on the chair, we'll provide the menu!

- Just wait, Mai! - I told Mai. - Let me tell him first.

As we expected, he started to get confused:

- Wait-wait! Who are you? Why is there a restaurant here? Why did I-

- Please calm down, gentlemen! I will tell you, on the condition that you are mentally prepared.

He of course wanted to say something, but then remained silent. After that, I went to him and whispered in his ear:

- You're gone.

Once again as we predicted, his pupils widened, then he began to stutter:

- Hey- hey, wh-what are you saying! You-you-are-joking-joking-r-right???

I just shook my head. By now he was starting to panic.

- WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? IF I WERE DEAD, HOW THE FUCK IN THE WORLD COULD YOU SEE ME RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Yep, he cursed me, and I decided to give him a surprise. He ran at me right away, trying to seize my shoulder, while he was in a panic. His hand passed through me as if it were a ghost passing through a human when he touched me. He was afraid, as I had anticipated.

- No, no way, this is impossible. I'M NOT DEAD! I'M NOT DEAD!

Thus, I pulled him into a room right away. In actuality, lost souls will speak with God in that room, and God will explain to them why they passed away and what we can do to comfort them. If they get too frightened, they are also free to scream in that room. I can relate to them as a longtime restaurant owner. Usually, because they pass away unexpectedly, those spirits are unaware that they have passed away. At that time, we immediately had lunch.

- But why do you say it so bluntly? - Long pondered.

- I've delivered such dreadful news thousands of times before. No matter how I conveyed the news to them, they would panic. So speaking openly is both the quickest and best option.

Long was new here, so it was right for him to ask.

Only Phong and I walked up to wait for the other person after lunch. When he left that room, we went upstairs and waited for perhaps fifteen minutes. And once more, just as I had anticipated (I've seen this a thousand times), he had a disheveled appearance. His clothing were unkempt, and his hair was no longer nicely combed like it was moments ago. Specifically, his face was incredibly depressed and his eyes appeared bloodshot, as if he had just finished sobbing.

He strolled up to an adjacent table and sat down, putting his hands together on the surface. Even when he stared at the table, his eyes were serious. As soon as I observed the incident, I told Phong to get him a drink of water. After I was done talking, I returned to that table, took a seat across from him, and waited. Working here made me understand that I should let them be depressed and wait for them to come to me for support rather than interfere with their feelings. Normally, there will be people who hate it when others keep asking about their sadness. Let them reflect; let them temporarily relieve their sadness; then you just need to give them a hug. That's my experience.

I don't know how long we sat there, I only know that when he asked me, the glass of water has already been on the table. He looked straight at me, his eyes no longer filled with despair like before, instead there was a bit of sadness, along with a ray of hope. He asked me:

- So, So, God said you can help me, is that true?

- Come on young man, you can't doubt what God said, can you? - I slowly told him.

- So what if I say I don't want to go to the afterlife?

Oh, a new question! This is my first time hearing this sentence.

- Hmm... how should I say it? You will be a "dead soul", and you will never be able to reincarnate again. God, of course, told you this, so don't even try to confuse me.

He hesitated again, then put his face down on the table:

- Actually, I have a wish. But I'm not sure you can help me do it.

- Oh come on young man! You have to tell me so I can know what it is.

With a sigh, he began to tell his narrative slowly, making me think he was one of the most peculiar visitors I had ever encountered.

- After four years of marriage, my spouse and I had a daughter. But we were having a lot of arguments since my business was failing. She filed for a divorce and claimed custody of the kids because she could take it no longer. She moved away and forbidden me from seeing her. I haven't seen my kid in two years, even though I genuinely adore her. I constantly strive to work hard. I started searching for them as soon as I could afford to. I quickly jumped on my motorcycle and rode out as soon as I had the address. But I was ...involved in ...an accident...

Saying this, his eyes began to fill with tears. I also experience sadness. When I hear the tales of other souls, I occasionally feel a small bit of sympathy, but my compassion is heightened for those whose experiences coincide with his. For what reason? Later, we may discuss.

- So, the last thing you want to do is?

At this point he started sobbing, said:

- I-I-I w-want to g-g-see my-my-children for the last t-t-time.

- So where does your daughter live?

- I-I-I-I...I...don't remember...

He panicked again, I started having trouble understanding.

- Wait, what do you mean that you don't remember?

- Since childhood, I have suffered from forgetfulness. It's because of forgetfulness that I don't have a stable career... It's because of forgetfulness that I broke up my family... IT'S ALSO WHY I CAN'T MEET MY DAUGHTER!!! WHY!?!? WHY!?

After being shocked, I accompanied Phong to persuade him to calm down. This is undoubtedly the first situation I've dealt with, so it may be challenging.
